22 Feb ROUND TABLE ABOUT LEGAL CULTURE OF QATARI LAW
Doha International Center for Interfaith Center welcomes you to the Fifth Round Table for expatriates in Qatar about the legal culture of Qatari law, organized in cooperation with College of Law at Qatar University.
This event focuses on giving participants a basic knowledge about Qatari law and its relation to socio-economic context, Properties of the Rule of Law and sources of Law in Qatari legislation, Customs and the principles of Islamic law. The program aims to make explicit the application of the law and its interpretation by Qatari courts.
Since the program is aimed at non specialist audience, speeches will be delivered in a simplified legal language, to discuss a variety of legal texts, and in addition to raising contemporary issues related to the program themes, through public interaction interesting cases that are brought forward in discussion will also be tackled.
OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT
Through participation in this event, the participant will be able to:
1.Understand the concept of the rule of Law in relation to religion and morality in the State of Qatar.
2.Assess the relationship between Law and social-economic context of the community.
3.Understand the properties of the rule of Law and sources of Law in Qatar.
4.Determine the mechanisms of application of the Law and its interpretation.
5.Identify Qatar’s judicial structure.
6.Understand criminalization in Qatar.
7.Understand the different types of crime according to Qatari law
8.Know the legal framework of Qatari Labor Law.
