01 Mar DICID Celebrates National Sports Day
Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue organized two main activities to celebrate National Sports Day, in order to emphasize DICID’s role in contributing to create an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence between Qatari citizens and expatriate communities.
The first event, a mini-football tournament was organized in Yarmouk Middle Independent School, with participation of six school representing independent schools and community schools.
The tournament ended with an award ceremony. Dr. Ibrahim, Chairman of DICID, presented DICID tournament cup to the Indian school team, who won against Shahaniyya Middle school. Medals and gifts to remaining teams and referees were also distributed.
All attendees expressed their satisfaction for this successful event where DICID officials were present, including the Chairman Dr. Ibrahim as well as Yarmouk School’s officials.
The second event of the day took place in Katara Cultural Village, and consisted of a stall where souvenir gifts to visiting public were distributed, including books related to sports. Furthermore, a children coloring session also took place at the stall.
At the end of the day Chairman of DICID expressed his thanks to the wise leadership, for this successful national event, which gives opportunity to all inhabitants of Qatar to enjoy diverse sporting activities all over Qatar.
