14 Aug DICID CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF IMAM AND HIS ASSISTANT IN NEW YORK CITY
“whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.”
The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue/DICID condemns the killing of the Queens Mosque’s Imam and his assistant, in New York City.
The DICID expresses its full solidarity and its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Muslim community of New York City, as well as the whole United States.
The DICID strongly rejects all those criminal acts that clearly offend the principles and values of the Islamic religion that considers the protection of human life as its main objective.
It is a great tragedy and lost, to target religious leaders who have dedicated their lives to call for peace, love and brotherhood among different communities, through the divine teachings.
The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue urges countries all over the world, to protect religious leaders as well as faith organizations, and undertake all measures for preventing such heinous acts, by spreading peace and empathy, to restore confidence amongst different communities and faiths.
