Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) proudly signed a cooperation agreement with Lusail Publishing and Distribution House on Sunday morning, October 25, in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DICID, Mr. Khaled Mubarak Abdulaziz Al-Dulaimi, Managing Director of Lusail Publishing and Distribution House and their respective officials.
The agreement affirms the cooperation, coordination and joint support between the two establishments for the editing, publication and distribution of books, research as well as other academic fields, and extended coordination in all other areas that serve common objectives for both.
The agreement is a milestone in itself since both establishments operate in the field of culture as Qatari institutions whose primary goal is to promote Qatari culture locally as well as internationally, making the agreement an important achievement for both parties.
At the official signing, Professor Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, said: “Today we are pleased to sign this agreement with the Lusail Publishing and Distribution House, a distinguished Qatari institution with extensive experience in publishing and distribution. As DICID is an institution of an international research and academic nature, whereby the production of books and scientific journals are one of its most important objectives. DICID’s Adyan journal, an internationally refereed journal, is another publication that specializes in studies of interfaith dialogue. Such cooperation will enhance the reach of the center’s publications locally and internationally.
Dr. Al-Naimi added: “The values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence are fundamental and give human beings meaning and understanding. Thus, we strive to spread and promote these values both locally and internationally through all our publications, most of which are academic and specialized in nature. Such cooperation agreements will also contribute to the mutual exchange of experiences and resources, expanding the horizons of our reach.”
Dr. Al-Naimi concluded by saying: “By reviewing the terms of the agreement, it is evident that there is a strong desire for cooperation between the two parties to promote cultural achievements to wide audiences both locally and internationally. We ask God to bless our efforts and guide us. It is also important to emphasize that the agreement sits in the framework of strengthening culture and knowledge, which is an essential part of Qatar’s National Vision. We seek to support this effort with vigor and determination in all our activities and events.”
For his part, Mr. Khaled Mubarak Abdulaziz Al-Dulaimi, Managing Director of Lusail Publishing and Distribution House, said: “There are many common goals between the Lusail Publishing and Distribution House and the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, one of the most important Qatari civil institutions working diligently towards enhancing the cultural reality that we seek in Qatari society. It is of further interest to us that the center is also an international institution, thus contributing to the global publication and distribution of its work as we partake in almost all book fairs around the world. Therefore, it has become necessary to conclude a cooperation agreement between the two establishments, to contribute in achieving our common goals.”
It is worth noting that the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue is an international center dedicated to promoting the culture of interfaith dialogue, building bridges of cooperation and understanding between followers of different religions, cultures and civilizations around the world, building resources in the field of dialogue, peace and tolerance, while also engaging religious values to address issues and problems that concern humanity and various aspects of religious life so as to build a society based on mutual respect, coexistence and harmony regardless of religion, culture and ethnicity.
The Lusail Publishing and Distribution House is one that has continued to publish, print and distribute paperback and electronic copied of books in a wide number of languages and has built a readership across all age groups in Qatar as well as internationally. Through distribution, electronic platforms and international cultural forums, the Lusail Publishing and Distribution House aims at enriching society culturally and literarily and at bringing the Arab thought to every reader in the Arab region and beyond.
