Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue is involved in various activities that are always focused on achieving its goals: promoting peace, and dialogue, creating an environment characterized by acceptance of the other, and forming a balanced and moderate mindset that recognizes pluralism and participates in improving peaceful coexistence.
We will introduce to our esteemed readers and followers the new publications of Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue for July 2022. These publications are represented in ADYAN peer-reviewed journal called “Religions”, the periodical newsletter, and selected papers. The details are as follows:
First: The 15th issue of the ADYAN peer-reviewed journal “Religions”:
The issue was devoted to addressing the concerned questions of the “sanctity of human life”. Our esteemed authors have enriched the issue with informative articles characterized by in-depth analysis and solid knowledge and conclusive evidence. Authors shed light on serious questions about the value of human life, call for its protection, and confront the extremes and crime of shedding innocent blood. The issue also covers the human right to life and the prohibition of killing the human soul in religions, issues of suicide, and euthanasia in world religions: Means of confrontation. The issue also includes the following contributions in English: abortion in world religions, suicide in ancient Hindu books, the impact of collective and economic practices that threaten human life, the issue of suicide among adolescents, and the human spirit in Jewish thought, among other research papers.
Second: Periodical Newsletter, Issue 15:
Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue has released its 15th issue of Periodical Newsletter to its esteemed readers and writers, in conjunction with the final preparations for the fourteenth annual DICID International Conference entitled: “Hate Speech: Scriptures and Realities,” held in Doha, Qatar, on May 24 -25, 2022.
The issue contains several updates on DICID’s activities as well as information on the latest academic research and publications, including a report on the local seminars that DICID has been conducting, including the latest seminar that DICID organized in collaboration with the Qatari Forum for Authors, entitled: “The Impact of Interfaith Dialogue on the Rationalization of Otherness.”
The issue has also highlighted the international seminar titled: “Escalation of Hate Speech among Minorities in the West”. In addition, the issue also features a report on a training session on: “The Gift and Value of Volunteering” organized by DICID in collaboration with Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, among other activities that take place regularly at DICID.
Last but not least, the issue also includes a brief report on official local and international visits to the center and reports on new agreements that will pave the way for better cooperation and the achievement of common goals.
Third: “Selected Papers”:
Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue issued two selected letters in Arabic and English: “Religions and Hate Speech: Causes, Types, and Ways to Confront. Arabic paper was edited by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, whereas the English paper was edited by Dr. Sinad Marharovic, under the same title.
Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue chose to present them in its annual conference (Doha Conference for Interfaith Dialogue) in its fourteenth session, which is entitled: (Religions and Hate Speech…Between Practice and Scriptures) held in Doha on May 24-25, 2022.
