Indian Expatriate Ramadan Meet Urged to shoulder

the responsibility of developing peaceful surrounding.

 

Doha: The Ramadan Youth Meet hosted by Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue – DICID for Indian Community in cooperation with Qatar Charity and Indian Youth Forum Qatar urged the expatiates to play their vital role of positively transforming the society.

“Qatar has always been a land of peace and harmony for the nationals and residents alike andDICID as an initiative of the visionary leadership of Qatar is aimed to support and promote a culture ofdialogue and peaceful coexistence among believers of different religions and to motivate religious valuesas a solution to the issues of concerns and problems to the humanity” said Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Al Naimi, Chairman of the Doha International Centre of Interfaith Dialogue while inaugurating the Doha RamadanMeet, to a packed audience of around 2500 Indian expatriates who attended the Iftar event at the Qatar Sports Club.

Dr. Naimi reiterated the importance of active participation of the expatriate community in Qatar andhighlighted the vital role they should play in positively transforming the society.  Further he praised the expatriate community in Qatar for promoting a very friendly living atmospherekindled with mutual respect, fraternity and cooperation. “For this reason, the inter-relation and cooperationwithin expatriate organizations, associations, and societies have been one of the main priorities of DICID” added Dr. Al Naimi. He encouraged the audience to foster these values of solidarity and brotherhooddeveloping the environment of positive dialogue culture among religious and cultural communities in Doha.

S.A Firose, President of Indian Youth Forum in his Keynote speech appreciated Qatar and admired its stand on spreading the word of peace and fraternity through initiatives like the DICID and Qatar charity in building constructive dialogue culture among the various communities in Qatar and abroad and conducting diverse welfare activities among the working expatriates for their wellness and peaceful coexistence. “Youth forum takes pride and joy in representing the invaluable message of love and harmony and cooperation nurtured by DICID and Qatar Charity” he added.

During the felicitation speech, Dr. Mohammed Bin Ali Al Ghamidi, Executive Director of InternationalDevelopment at Qatar Charity stated that “Qatar Charity is committed to continue their humanitarian anddevelopment programs to support the various communities in Qatar and globally for their welfare andsocial fraternity”.  Also, he expressed gratification in these types of gatherings in the month of Ramadanregardless of religious boundaries.

Welcoming the Audience, Vice President of the Youth Forum Mr. Saleel Ebrahim, expressed his sincere gratitude to the various governmental and non-governmental institutions in Qatar like the DICID and Qatar Charity for their invaluable supports and expressed the forum’s continued commitment for peaceful social engagements, services to the society and creating a space for all to come together irrespective ofall the differences towards their vision of One World One Love.

Felicitations were conveyed by KC Abdul Latheef, Member of Advisory Council, Youth Forum. Mr. Mohamed Mohamedi, DICID Delegate, Mr. Masoud Abdul Hadi, Media Specialist DICID, Mr. Bilal Haripad, General Secretary, Youth Forum, Mr. Shanavas Khalid, Vice President, Youth Forum also attended the Ramadan Meet. The event was remarkably attended by around 2500 Indian Expatriates from various Indian communities in Qatar and concluded by Iftar.
