08 Aug DICID condemns and strongly rejects the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Allah say in the holy Qur’an:
“Who could be more wicked than someone who prevents God’s name from being mentioned in His places of worship, and seeks to bring about their ruin, while it behoves these men to enter them with fear in their hearts? There is disgrace in store for them in this world and a great punishment in the next.” Chapter 2, verse 114.
Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue strongly condemns the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Holy Mosque of Al-Aqsa, which was stormed by Jewish settlers early Sunday morning, August 7, 2022. The attack and storming occurred in the context of the Israeli occupation army’s continued assaults on the Gaza Strip as part of a military operation that began on Friday afternoon.
DICID stresses that this invasion is a form of discrimination hostile to people’s freedom and faith, and reiterated that while condemning this storming, it also stresses its full solidarity with the Palestinians in general and the citizens of Al-Quds Al-Sharif in particular, as it is one of the holiest places of prayer in Islam, the first direction of prayer Qibla set for Muslims, the second of two mosques, the third of the holy mosques and the place from which the Prophet made his journey to heaven.
DICID stresses that the continuation of Israeli violence, disregard for the rights of Palestinians guaranteed by all international laws and disregard for human values inevitably lead to an uncertain future and consequences filled only with blood and destruction.
DICID has repeatedly advocated that places of worship should be kept away from all types of conflict and that the innocent people who live in or visit places of worship should always be protected and feel safe.
Last but not least, Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue calls on all interfaith dialogue centers and all concerned civil societies to take immediate action to stop these attacks on the Holy Mosque of Al-Aqsa Al-Sharif, the defenseless Palestinian people and innocent citizens. DICID also calls for a halt to Israeli practices of Judaizing Islamic holy sites and an end to the ongoing aggression against the Palestinians. DICID calls on all interfaith dialogue centers and all concerned civil societies to condemn all kinds of offensive practices and aggression against Islam and Muslims, and to stand together when such terrible behaviors occur.
