15 May DICID Condemns the killing of Palestinian protestors and the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem
The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) strongly condemns the Israeli aggressive actions against Palestinian peaceful demonstrators in the Great March of Return and breaking the siege in eastern Gaza and throughout the West Bank.
The Israeli aggression resulted in the death of a large number of Palestinian martyrs and many were wounded. They faced the Israeli machine of violence, unarmed. They were armed with only the hope to gain freedom and dignity, within a Palestinian state, supported by the international covenants.
DICID also condemns the relocation of the United States Embassy to Jerusalem, which enshrines the American recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, in flagrant violation of international law, thus undermining future prospects for any future peace settlement.
The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue affirms that the cycle of violence imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people and America’s unlimited support for Israel, and completely ignoring Palestinian rights which was guaranteed by all international laws, and human values, will inevitably lead to an uncertain and dangerous future to the region.
The crime against humanity of the killing of unarmed civilians in cold blood, with the eyes and ears of the world, must lead to the prosecution of criminals who did not observe the peace of the demonstrators, who confronted the military machine unarmed , and only armed by the spirit of patriotism.
DICID calls on religious scholars around the world, of all faiths and sects, to stand united and declare a clear humanitarian position in the face of colonial occupation that violates all religious and Human Rights values .
It also calls for the dissemination of human values, love and peace, and for the promotion of human rights in a decent life and freedom guaranteed by all Covenants.
In this context, DICID urges these organizations to launch an urgent appeal to the decision-makers and institutions to lift the injustice and establish the rights of the Palestinian people in the 70th anniversary of the Nakba.
