30 Nov Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Visits DICID
The ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Azmat Berdibay has sought greater co-operation between his country and Qatar in the interfaith dialogue.
On a visit to the DICID yesterday, His Excellency Mr. Azmat Berdibayand, Dr. Ibrahim al-Naimi the chairman of the DICID and Dr. Yusuf Al-Siddique the manager of the center had an enthusiastic discussion about possible student exchange programmes in interfaith dialogue between the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and Kazakhstan universities. Mr. Berdibayand said that the Kazakhstan Embassy supports the DICID on its path to becoming a leading international center in interfaith dialogue.
Mr. Berdibayand stressed Kazakhstan’s activity in interfaith dialogue and the interfaith conference which is held every three years is a one of its results.
The next one will be held in July 2009. He expressed interest in attending the next Doha interfaith conference in October 2009.
At the end of the visit Dr. Al-Naimi received from the ambassador a copy of the previous conferences held in Kazakhstan and both sides expressed a desire to establish constructive and fruitful cooperation in the future between the state of Qatar and the Republic of Kazakhstan in this area as in other areas.
