16 Apr OIC Secretary General Warns of the Consequences of the Plan to Break into the Holy Al-Aqsa
The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, warned of the consequences of the Israeli extremists’ storming of Al-Aqsa mosque and stressed that the attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque forms a blatant assault on the sanctities of Muslims.
He described the current plan to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque by a large number of zealous Israeli extremists on Thursday 16 April 2009 as extremely dangerous and can lead to unpredictable consequences, pointing out that the increase in Israeli attacks on Muslim holy sites in the holy city requires a serious stand by the Muslim Ummah [nation], in order to defend its sanctities.
In a related matter, the Secretary General met in his office on Wednesday 15 April 2009, Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement inside Palestine. The Secretary General discussed with him the grave situation in the Holy City of Al-Quds in light of the escalation of Israeli attacks aimed at the Judaization of the city.
They also discussed the continued violations aiming at emptying the city of its Palestinian citizens, demolition of their homes and replacing them with settlers.
