31 Jul Radio program on the topic of “Interfaith Dialogue”, prepared by the DICID in cooperation with Qatar Charity
For the second consecutive year, the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue organized and broadcasted a thirty- three episode radio program entitled “the Interfaith Dialogue”, which addressed a number of issues related to the interfaith . The dialogic program broadcasted during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1438H/ 2017, and presented by Dr. Salman Al-Dafairi, Professor at the Community College in Qatar, has hosted a group of distinguished specialists in the related field. Among those guests : Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue; Dr. Ali Al-Qura-Daghi, Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars; Dr. Aisha Al Mannai, Vice Chairman of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue; Prof. Dr. Badran Masood, Professor at the University of Hamad Bin Khalifa University; Dr. Alaa Halat, Professor at Qatar University; Dr. Abdul Qader Bakhosh, Professor at Qatar University; and Dr. Omar Al-Awali, Professor at the Community College of Qatar.
The fifteen minutes Program was broadcast twice a day. The basic idea of the program is to bring together experts and academics to address , discuss and highlight interfaith dialogue issue from various prospective, through topics such as: Religious dialogue, history, goals and motivations; The role played the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue , and its contribution to spread the culture of peace and coexistence, in local, regional as well as international levels; What are the obstacles facing Muslim-Christian dialogue? ; The role of religions to achieve peace; Religious dialogue in the West : goals and results . The program also discussed contemporary issues such as religion and modernity, interfaith dialogue and the clash of civilizations.
The program is considered one of the important periodic activities of the Center because of its impact on raising the awareness of the community on spreading the culture of dialogue and challenging religious culture, as well as an opportunity to introduce the objectives, mission and activities of the Center.
