01 Nov The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue strongly condemns the Houthis missile attack targeting Mecca.
It is written in the Holy Quran:
“Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-Haram, which We made for the people – equal are the resident therein and one from outside; and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing – We will make him taste of a painful punishment” (Surat AlHajj, Ayat 25).
Human dignity is inviolably precious. Humanity’s holy sites are a part of this dignity and should be preserved—that belief should be common in all religions and customs. That is in fact what Muslims believe, and the Quran teaches them to treat others beliefs and sanctuaries respectfully, in addition to fulfilling their promises and covenants. By this attack the Houthi rebels exceeded all humanitarian limits, all charters and treaties, and now dare to attack religious sanctuaries and holy sites! Again, the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue strongly condemns the Houthis’ ballistic missile attack targeting the holy city of Mecca. It constitutes a violation of the sanctity and dignity of Muslims everywhere. As we condemn this act, we also call on everyone to denounce such criminal acts in every time and place, because the desecration of holy sites cannot be tolerated. May the Almighty protect the Holy Land and its people from all calamity, evil, and enemies.
