Doha international Center for Interfaith Dialogue participated to a Seminar, as a part of in the International day celebration , organized par Qatari Youth Hostel organization, under the slogan “wake up to a Better World “The Center was represented by Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi, the Chairman of the DICID.
The symposium has brought a number of participants, included young people, experts and connected people .
In his speech, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi, Chairman of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, stressed that the “Religion is undoubtedly the primary source of all human values, and peace. Peace is the cornerstone of all religious teachings, the dignity of man, his life his ownership, his reputation and his religion are the foundation of all religions.
Therefore, religious teachings are considered to be the foundation of all laws and charters developed by man to achieve peace. The relationship between men should be based on values of love, peace and brotherhood which are the essence of all religion. God created us as human beings to rebuild the Earth, and to do so, the establishment of Peace, is a precondition.
Al-Naimi, during his speech, referred to a number of texts that emphasized the concept of peace and mercy. He said: God Almighty named himself in the Holy Quran peace. He said in Surat al-Hashr: He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Superb. Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him). ( Surat Alshr-versus 23). In Surah Al-Anbiya, God described the message of the prophet Muhammad- Blessings and peace of Allah upon Him- as mercy: ” We sent thee not save as a mercy for the peoples.” (Surat Al-Anbiya, versus 107)
“The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue , as a related institution working in for interreligious and intercultural dialogue, is engaged to contribute to prepare generations deeply rooted inreligious and moral values, capable of interacting with others within mutual respect and co-existence in harmony and harmony regardless of different religions, cultures and ethnicities, especially since the world has become a single village, and the fate of its inhabitants is intertwined and interdependent; so that what is happening in the east of the world resonates in the west and vice versa, distances, and the spread of information technology and the means of social communication language.
Dr. Al-Naimi also stressed on the need of dialogue to promote peace, and spread a culture of peace. In this regard , the Doha Center for Interfaith Dialogue has adopted a strategy based on dialogue among followers of religions to better understand religious principles, values and teachings , address the issues and problems of humanity, mutual respect and recognition of the other, which in fact reflects the vision of Qatar in its relations with other countries and peoples, and in the treatment of all who live on its land of residents; respect for them and their children and practice their religious rites with all comfort and comfort, this certainly does not prejudice the teachings The religion of the Islamic religion, customs and traditions of the State of Qatar.
Al-Naimi also called for the need for coordination between institutions locally and internationally to promote a culture of dialogue and peace. He cited examples of the center’s efforts in this regard. He said: Peace is undoubtedly a human demand, in personal, community or international levels. Therefore, each of us must have a particular role to contribute in achieving Peace, and find out ways to reach that very particular objective.
At the institutional level, the DICID operates internationally and locally through partnership with related organizations , independent or governmental, affiliated to universities or international institutions. As a result, many conferences and seminars have been held with these centers and institutions in their respective countries either with the participation or Support and funding from the Center, and the Center holds annual lectures in these bodies.
Dr. Al-Naimi expressed the hope that Qatari Youth Hostels Association will continue to sponsor and support educational and cultural efforts to contribute to prepare a peace-loving generation capable of spreading its culture and realizing its concepts locally and internationally.
The Chairman of the Doha Center for Interfaith Dialogue concluded his speech by saying: “Finally, I hope that young people will take peace as an approach to their thinking, a way of their actions and a worship that they approach to their Lord. This will only be done with the correct understanding of religion as a welcoming space for love and peace, To hatred and war.
In addition to Dr. Ibrahim Al Naimi, Dr. Mohammed bin Ghanim Al Maa’adid, Chairman of the Qatar Red Crescent Society and HE Minister Plenipotentiary Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Sada participated in the symposium.
